Nortel TN-16X Repair Services
The Nortel TN-16X is a legacy SDH system. SDH is utilised whereby payloads of a transmission system are synchronised by a master network clock. The TN-16X system is for STM-16 ( 2488 Mbps). It is used as backbone for regional and national SDH networks and often in conjunction with Nortel LH DWDM. The tributaries can be 34 Mbps, 40Mbps, STM-1 electrical, STM-1 optical and STM-4 Optical. It was used in point to point, repeater and ring configurations. The Ring topology is for ring protection in case of network break. This type of resilience was and is one of the main advantages of SDH for the Operator. In Nortel terminology the theelement controller card is known as the OPC. The MMX repair centre has the Ring and Line shelf available with the Regen shelf in development. These reference systems are used to support the Nortel TN-16X repair process.
