The Juniper EX3300 is used as an access switch in enterprises and also in the data centre by service providers. The switch has either 24 or 48 ports for 10/100/1000BASE-T and also 4 uplink ports for connection to a distribution switch or to interconnect switches as members of a Virtual Chassis. 10 switches can be connected together in this manner. The uplink ports support SFP and SFP+ optical transceivers for 10Gbps. All of the EX switches run Junos which is capable of providing layer 2 ( switching) and layer 3 (switch/routing) as well as security features. Some of the EX3300 can also do power over ethernet (PoE) to connect telephones and other devices denoted by the P in the full part code. Test parameters and duration of testing are defined by the customer according to needs and are documented in agreed test documentation. This can include link and traffic testing as well self diagnostics from the device itself.
